1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using WinBasketBuddy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. What WinBasketBuddy is

WinBasketBuddy is a community-driven grocery price-comparison platform for Windsor, Ontario. Prices are submitted by WinBuddies (shoppers) and Merchants (grocers), and are not verified by us before publication.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when registering as a WinBuddy or Merchant.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
• Merchant accounts must be created by someone authorized to represent that store.

4. Reporting prices

• Price reports must be submitted in good faith and reflect a real price you observed at that store.
• We verify you are physically near a store (via GPS) before accepting a report for it, to deter fake submissions.
• To keep the platform usable for everyone, report submissions are rate-limited per account.
• We may remove reports or suspend accounts that submit false, spam, or abusive content.

5. Points, leaderboard rank, and referral bonuses

Separately from the cashback program described below, points, leaderboard rank, and referral bonuses are for engagement and recognition only. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, transferred, or exchanged, and we may adjust the rules, values, or existence of this program at any time.

6. Cashback (receipt rewards) program

Certain stores partner with WinBasketBuddy to offer real cashback when a WinBuddy submits a receipt for a purchase made there. This is real money, and the following applies specifically to it:

• The cashback rate for a receipt is set by the participating merchant for their own store, and the merchant may change or discontinue it at any time.
• Whether a submitted receipt is approved, rejected, or adjusted is decided using that merchant's own rate, and that decision is final. WinBasketBuddy does not guarantee any specific cashback amount, approval outcome, or timeline, and is not responsible for a merchant's rate or approval decisions.
• Approved cashback becomes payable to you only after the corresponding merchant has actually paid WinBasketBuddy for it, which typically happens once our monthly billing cycle with that merchant closes. Until then, an approved amount is shown as held or accumulating, not yet an amount owed to you.
• Cashback is paid to you by e-Transfer, to the recipient email you provide when you request payout. You are solely responsible for providing and confirming the correct e-Transfer recipient - WinBasketBuddy is not responsible for funds sent to a recipient you specified incorrectly.
• WinBasketBuddy retains a service fee from each receipt's cashback before the remainder is credited to your balance; the amount credited to you is always the amount you are entitled to receive.
• We may hold, delay, reverse, or deny cashback for any receipt we reasonably believe is fraudulent, duplicated, altered, or submitted in violation of these terms.

7. Accuracy disclaimer

Prices shown on WinBasketBuddy are submitted by shoppers and merchants and can change, be reported incorrectly, or become outdated. We do not guarantee any price is currently accurate. Always confirm the price in-store before making a purchase decision based on it.

8. Merchant responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for the accuracy of prices they submit for their own store. Merchants may not submit false pricing for competitor stores or otherwise misuse the platform to disadvantage other businesses. Merchants offering the cashback program are responsible for keeping their reward rate accurate and for paying WinBasketBuddy, in a timely manner, the amounts invoiced for receipts approved at their store.

9. Prohibited conduct

• Submitting false, fraudulent, or spam price or receipt reports.
• Attempting to circumvent location verification or report rate limits.
• Creating multiple accounts to abuse the referral, rewards, or cashback program.
• Using the platform to harass, harm, or disadvantage any person or business.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the platform and request account deletion at any time.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

WinBasketBuddy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any price data is accurate or current.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WinBasketBuddy is not liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of the platform, including reliance on inaccurate price information, a merchant's cashback rate or approval decisions, a merchant's delay or failure to pay, or an e-Transfer sent to a recipient you specified incorrectly.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
